Blog 2: If I am to make a piece of art.. I WILL SURELY NOT IDOLIZE IT.

If I am to make a piece of art,
I'll surely give the best of what i can.
If I am to make a piece of art,
I would dedicate this to my inspirations.
If I am to make a piece of art,
I'll display it into my room.
If I am to make a piece of art,
It'll have great combination of colors.
If I am to make a piece of art,
I WILL SURELY NOT GIVE MY STRONG ATTACHED DEVOTION AND THEN WORSHIP IT.

We artists are capable of doing great things like the artworks that we have seen in our history.
And just so you know, we people are more than a piece of art.
(WE ARE MORE THAN THAT!)
We, people can think, laugh, cry, act, and many more (I hope you know that you can do these things. :)
Unlike art pieces, though it can stand for a very long period of time, we all know that they are not capable of doing what we can, except for making us realize that we are truly blessed with our precious talents. :))

When i was reading some bible texts i would just like to share this to all of you (professors, classmates and readers):

This is when Apostle Paul and Barnabas was in Lystra (from Wikipedia:
Lystra is a city that is now a modern Turkey)

After reading, this made me realize how the people before were so brainwashed, and even their priest.

KEEP IN MIND:
ART can lead us in different directions.

First, is to be like those people who did not even try to know the truth and the people who ended up choosing to stay and have faith in their beliefs and traditions they had while they grew up. Well, a man of wisdom don't just believe with THIS and THAT, a man who has wisdom searches for the truth for himself.

Second, is to be like the early Christians who always give thanks to our INTELLIGENT CREATOR for being blessed. We can really say that they are not only full of knowledge and skills but also the WISDOM. Though they possess their abilities they did not take it as an advantage of manipulating the truth (like making their own God). They use their talents to serve the true God. And we believe that this is what makes a person truly so fit to be called an ARTIST.

P.S.
I'm not against the world of art or something, I'm just against on some of them. It's because of the purposes, motives, origins and the people behind it.

Blog 1: Art-- A Challenge to Artists

As I analyze the some of the art works in Ancient Art my faith in God strengthen more and I pity those people who did not knew the true God at all. I learned how men during that time lack knowledge and faith about our (true) God because of the manipulators of the truth. When I was little, I have always known that God hated people who worship other Gods than him.

"I am Jehovah your God, who have brought you out of the land of Egypt out of the house of slaves. You must not have any other gods against my face. "You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is down the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me" (Exodus 20:2-6)

For example:

The Sumerian Gods
Anu- God of the sky
Nannu- God of the moon
Abu- God of Vegetation

Akhenaton is a worshipper of a fake God-Aton (God of sun).

Egyptians deceived by False Doctrine “Immortality”

When a pharaoh or a priest dies they mummify the body and place it in their tomb- the pyramid. Gold, jewelries, wine and other luxuries are buried with them. Also take note that their slaves are murdered and placed right next to the side of their masters. So that they will be able to serve their masters in afterlife.

What does the Bible says about this?

In reality, it has a big contrast in Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."
Psalms 146:4 "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts perish." Yes the dead don't know anything they lose their five senses.

I can say that Art is good. Actually it is a gift from God. Not everyone can make a work of art but we must see to it that whenever we create artworks we should remember that this should not be against the Divine law or against the moral standards of our intelligent creator. We should not take the footsteps of the pagan world if we are true believers of God and Christ.

As an artist it is really a big challenge to us to be wise enough to pin point what is pleasing to God and what is not. But it will do give way for us to honor the loving-kindness of Jehovah.

Moses is so angry that he throws down the two flat stones
with the laws on them, and they break into
many, many pieces.

Week 7: Who’s Janelli behind those smiles?

-my negative side

More and more migraines. I’m very sensitive to light that whenever the sun is exposing too much light in my eyes I easily get more than a headache- migraine. To prevent this feeling I project in the camera and take some pictures of me. I found this really helpful. Also, I bring a lot of medicines inside my bag for emergency purposes like this one.

Crabby me. When I get too stressed out and nobody is helping me I get hot tempered at times, but it is rare now. I learned from this semester that I can start something even though they don’t want to help me. Anyway, it’s their choice not mine and they will never benefit from it.

I can’t control spending especially on clothes. Yes, this is me. But I don’t buy expensive ones. I’m very practical with my fashion statements but I just can’t help buying something especially when it’s on sale.

I panic, a lot. Whenever we have deadlines I don’t know what to do first and what to do last, where to start and where to finish. But now I learned how to adjust and adapt the life of an MMA student. I don’t practice MaƱana habit, because whenever I have time I do stuffs in advance. But sorry for this blog that it’s late, I finished bunch of projects. Thank God I’m done with all this stuff. Till next blogging. J

Week 6: How did he know?

How did you know by Gary Valenciano is my baby James’ favorite song because it was actually my brothers’ favorite song and yes, James was influenced by his tito JM because he sings this song every day.

“I remember so well the day that you came into my life. . .”
I can still reminisce the day when I knew that I was pregnant. At first, I didn’t know what to and what to feel, knowing that I’m still young for this. I kept observing tummy minute by minute. I feel fear, excitement, joy and love, it was mixed emotions. Then here came 17th of April 2011. After giving birth, I just can’t believe it. I’m can’t help asking myself if this is all real? But the moment that I saw that gorgeous, active and little baby boy I can say that it was the most genuine happiness that I ever felt.

“My life started to change. . .”
Yes, my life did change a lot. I have more responsibilities now. But despite all of these changes, I learned the real meaning of life and became mature in different aspects.

“How you brought the sun to shine in my life. . .”
Back then, I easily get depressed. Living a life with my baby is living a life with no worries that you can do anything because you are inspired to give him a beautiful future. His smile always get me back into the right mood, and yeah he never fails with this one.

“No words can express how much I L-O-V-E Y-O-U”
The lyrics above say it all. All of my hard works are dedicated to my one and only James. I love you is not enough to express my deep love for him. I love him no matter what.
I know that someday he will be able to read this blog and I’m hoping that he’ll understand me for my mistakes. But all in all, I didn’t regret having James. He’s a blessing and a gift.
“James, mommy loves you! Always be a good boy.”

Week 5: Say NO to CHILD ABUSE!

“Don’t ever tell. It will be our secret.”
“No one would believe you.”
“If you tell your parents will hate you. They’ll know it was your fault.”
“Don’t you want to be my special friend anymore?”
“You do want me to go to jail, do you?”
“I’ll kill your parents if you tell.”
“I’ll buy/give you what you want.”

NOTE:Do not be deceived! The lines above are the common tactics of child molesters. Innocence of a child makes them easily believe those kinds of people.

A CRIME AT HOME. This child abuse issue usually starts at home. As a parent, we do have to take care of our children by giving them your own time, you prevent your child from being a victim.

A parent who lacks time and attention to their children opens the door for abusers. Why? Because those people would only seek easy targets. If we are not aware of our child’s activities, we are letting them fall in the cliff.
The fact: God sees them. (Job 34:22)

The best gift. The best thing that we could ever give to our child is to make their young years to be healthy and enjoyable. To prevent an emotional scar tendency into our child, we should educate them about sex, even at the very early age.

Me as a mom, I taught my baby James that he shouldn’t be kissed in his lips by everyone. We taught him that some of his body parts are private and sensitive. I told him to firmly say “NO!” to someone who want to take an advantage of him. He’s just three years old but he does know how to defend himself in a way he can. Don’t underestimate children’s capacity, that there are things in the world that they don’t have to know. Being equipped with the right knowledge will give bigger benefits to our children. An open communication is a must, we must let our child to be more open to us, and don’t ever hesitate to tackle them this issue, by doing so we prevent this kind of chaos.

Break the cycle. As a student we do have a great responsibility regarding this issue. We do all have a loved one whom we wanted to protect from being abuse. So if we know someone who is being abuse we can report it from the authorities. It must be stopped. Save them before its too late.
